Human Rights Due Diligence
At Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, we implement the Human Rights Respect System (HRRS) of our corporate group. This is a risk-based approach that helps us to systematically address human rights issues. The goal is to identify and avoid risks and potential negative impacts of our corporate activities on the respect for human rights at an early stage. Our commitments regarding human rights due diligence are set out in the Mercedes-Benz Group's Principles of Social Responsibility and Human Rights. This complements and speci-fies the requirements of our Integrity Code.
Sustainable Supply Chain Management
At Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation GmbH, we pursue sustainable supply chain management. We encourage our employees, suppliers, and business partners to act in an environmentally friendly manner and consider social minimum standards. This strengthens the trust of our stakeholders in our company as a reliable business partner and promotes the establishment of fair business practices in the markets.
With the Business Partner Standards, Mercedes-Benz Group sets its own ethical principles and the associated expectations for business partners. Our direct suppliers are also required to implement the Mercedes-Benz Responsible Sourcing Standards (RSS) and pass them on within their own supply chain. The RSS ensure responsible procurement of materials and services. We also provide our business partners with the "Compliance Awareness Module" to support them. This web-based training illustrates our principles and values, but also raises awareness of appropriate handling of potential integrity and compliance risks.
Business & People Protection Office (BPO)
An effective and protective whistleblowing system is a crucial tool for good corporate governance. Compliance with laws, internal regulations, and ethical standards is a high priority for Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation. An independent whistleblowing system supports fair and rapid detection, investigation, and termination of legal and regulatory violations. In our case, the Mercedes-Benz whistleblowing system BPO accepts any reports of violations. For example, if a business partner does not meet our standards, we reserve the right to terminate the cooperation or suspend the selection process.
